Mission Statement

Pirate Cross Country
Mission Statement – What We Are All About
By Scott Anderson

We are what we believe – this team is based on the idea that we as coaches believe in helping runners – fast runners, slow runners, heavy runners, skinny runners, long-distance or short-distance or in-between, 8-years-old or 80, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe.
We believe that running is therapy, running is fun, running well is funner and running fast is funnest. We believe in running in the dark, in the cold, in the heat, in the rain and in the snow, running the hills, forest and pavement.
We believe there is a direct correlation between inspiration and perspiration.
We believe in making mistakes and learning from them.
We believe there is no finish line.
We believe in you. RUN!

We are Pirate Cross Country!
We believe in the power of the long run, and the stories can create. We believe in positive thinking and that mental strength is more important than physical. We believe in running in the woods, in the rain, in the snow, mud and sun. We believe that the lessons learned in suffering can be transformative. We believe that fun can be had nearly anywhere and anytime. We believe that the power of a smile can overcome any climb. We believe that winning is everything, as long as winning is framed in the context of succeeding. We believe in team, in us, and in you. We belive that cross country rocks, and will change your life.
